Dogma is often confused
with Divine Law, but is only how the law is interpreted. Dogma often
constitutes a major portion of a religious body's law. And is easier for
small minds to deal with, easier than attempting to understand how the
various parts of the cosmos interact and relate to one another. Because
of this dogma becomes concrete and the quest to understand Divine law
becomes forgotten.
Divine law is
unyielding and everlasting. These are the laws governing the behaviors
of creation, such as gravity, the speeds of light and sound, and how
they respond to specific conditions.
Dogma on the other hand
is transitory and depends on creations understanding of the Divine Laws.
Since our understanding will forever be lacking, dogma can never be
complete. It must change as our understanding changes. |
